TIME OF ALARM: 12:04 PM, May 22, 2008

INCIDENT #: ORC08036833

LOCATION: Live Oak, Modjeska, and Williams Canyons (Thomas Brothers page 832 - G7)

CAUSE: Heavy rain

WEATHER CONDITIONS:  For additional information check with National Weather Service - Southern California or California Weather

COMMAND: Orange County Fire Authority

RESOURCES:

  • 2 Helicopters
  • 1 Skiploader
  • 2 Trucks
  • 1 Handcrew
  • 1 Dozer
  • 3 USAR units staged with 2 search dogs

EVACUATIONS: The evacuation order for residents of Modjeska, Williams, and Live Oak Canyons has been been lifted, residents may return to their homes.

The Orange County Fairgrounds (88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa) can accept large animals from residents. Residents must call ahead to (714) 708-1588 to inform OC Fairgrounds that they are coming and to receive directions about which gate to enter. Residents are expected to bring any necessary supplies for their large animals.

ROAD CLOSURES:  Check with Cal Trans for freeway and toll road closures.   Check with the local police department for city street closures.
