Important Updates and Information:
## All CICCS Position Task Books Initiated July 1, 2010 or Later Must Follow the New 2010 CICCS California Qualifications Guide and Related Policy. Position Task Books Opened Prior to July 1, 2010 Will Continue to Follow the NWCG PMS 310-1 Standards Until the 3 year Trainee Period Expires.
##CICCS delegates to the local fire chief of an organized fire department the authorization to determine that an individual meets the certification requirements for the FFT1, FFT2, ENOP, ENGB, CRWB, ICT4, ICT5, AREP, FEMT, and FEMP. All other ICS positions must be reviewed by the appropriate CICCS committee as outlined in the CICCS California Qualifications Guide.
##Once approved by the appropriate Peer Review Committee, the decision whether the individual meets the physical fitness and currency requirements of NWCG 310-1 2006 or the CICCS 2010 California Qualifications Guide and is qualified to fill the position within the state mutual aid system rests with the home agency Fire Chief.
##In addition to other required experience and classes as outlined in the CICCS California Qualifications Guide, both S-230 (Crew Boss) and S-231 (Engine Boss) are required training for the Engine Boss position. Contact your local ICS training personnel for details of blending the curriculum.
##The new On-Line S-290 (Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior) Is Now Accepted for the Engine Boss ICS Position Only. Personnel desiring to achieve status in all other positions requiring S-290 or above must complete the classroom version of S-290.
